I'm quite intrigued by The Quiet Zone! I recently deleted my Twitter account, which has been amazing. And at the start of the year I took email off my phone. Total game-changer and easier to manage than I expected. Turns out, emails are VERY rarely actually urgent. :)
I suppose if it is urgent you could get a text message. I have a health condition I get an email regarding my next appointment. I would have never known about Palm Royale if it wasn't for email. I subscribe to the Hollywood Reporter News Letter. I don't read every one I get. If the header seems interesting I do. I belong to some facebook groups, but I don't check out my feed that much. I have found a lot of interesting people to follow on twitter that I had never known about. I read a lot of independent journalism Or watch on you tube. No doubt there are people that can do with out social media. But newspapers are getting worse. I don't watch the news or cable news. By the way I looked up Palm Royale to find out more about it. But I did get to here because I have Email.
I just finished Infinite Country and LOVED it, but have you read her book The Veins of the Ocean? I read it in 2016 (started it the day after the election) and I still think about it all the time.
I’ve heard about The Quiet Zone and now I want to read about it. As a bonus, I’m learning all kinds of ways to improve my life by taking apps off my phone. Thank you. Mr. and Mrs. American Pie sounds like fun.
I wanted you to know, if it hadn't been for you I may not have known about Infinite Country. I hugely enjoyed it, and specially loved how the author incorporated myths and legends into the framework of a contemporary family and their incredible attempts to hold together through thick and thin- no spoilers here :D
I’ve been reading and thinking a lot about disconnecting from the internet and social media lately, and this looks like the perfect side dish to all the how-to guides.

I took Twitter and Facebook off my phone years ago and don't miss it. I'm not on Instagram, but I can't delete email yet.
Yes! I took Facebook and Twitter off my phone about a month ago and now forget to check them when I’m on my work computer.
I can’t part with email or Instagram yet, but I removed the little badge icon telling me how many notifications I missed and it is so freeing.
