OMG, so much good stuff in here today. You crushed it!
- IMHO, it's impossible to overuse 'truth universally acknowledged.' Like jazz hands, it's a classic.
- Have you read Kwan's 'Sex and Vanity? Have you read 'A Room with a View'? And knowing what you know about my reading taste, do you think I would be into Sex and Vanity?
- The Death I Gave Him sounds amazing. I knew nothing about it, and I'm so excited to read it as part of my ongoing Shakespeare project. Thank you for that!
The Death I Gave Him sounds sooo intriguing. I hadn’t heard of it and will be ordering it. I read James and suddenly I forgot I’d ever read another retelling. I thought it was superb. But I then I realized I have not forgotten The Hours by Michael Cunningham. Thanks for this!
Okay, I thought of my absolute favorite retelling. It’s Vladimir by Julia May Jonas, a homage to Lolita but from the perspective of a middle aged woman professor who kidnaps (or does she?) a younger colleague.

- I agree. Hence using it whenever.
- I have not! I skipped it but after enjoying this one so much, I might go back and do it.
-It is very weird and I hope to hear what youthink soon.
These retellings look so good!!
Enjoy!
I had NO IDEA Lies and Weddings was a retelling! Thank you for enlightening me! I am now texting everyone I know!
LMK what you think!
Oh my gosh, as a person who love retellings, your post made me so happy today. Saved your recos to my to-read list!
YAY! Happy to be of service.

I have this but haven't read it. Need to move it to the top of the list.
