I haven’t read Raising Lazarus, but I will. I am a Bioethicist and I believe harm reduction is an interesting approach to addiction from public heath policy perspective.
Re. Painkillers Sam Quinones is also doing great work with the opioid crises. Check out Dreamland and The Least of Us, which deals with growing meth crises.
Thank you for the ‘Raising Lazarus’ rec! If anyone wants anymore book recs on the topic of books to read because you’ve been watching ‘Painkiller’ I’d also suggest ‘Demon Copperhead’ by Barbara Kingsolver, ‘Transcendent Kingdom’ by Yaa Gyasi or ‘Empire of Pain’ by Patrick Keefe!
thank you for the comfort read rec - Limelight sounds perfect to curl up with at the end of back-to-school / back-to-real-life long, exhausting days!
1000% I would say it's Nancy Myers adjacent?
LOL, sounds right up my alley!
Omg I am totally a Thursday Next fangirl! Will definitely check out your rec, thanks!!!
Let me know what you think!
Love Thursday Next! Really need to go back and reread those books too.
They so hold up! I love them.
And thanks for the recommendation!
