I haven’t read Raising Lazarus, but I will. I am a Bioethicist and I believe harm reduction is an interesting approach to addiction from public heath policy perspective.

Re. Painkillers Sam Quinones is also doing great work with the opioid crises. Check out Dreamland and The Least of Us, which deals with growing meth crises.

Thank you for the ‘Raising Lazarus’ rec! If anyone wants anymore book recs on the topic of books to read because you’ve been watching ‘Painkiller’ I’d also suggest ‘Demon Copperhead’ by Barbara Kingsolver, ‘Transcendent Kingdom’ by Yaa Gyasi or ‘Empire of Pain’ by Patrick Keefe!
