I'm totally not ready for the Succession finale! Unscripted looks like a great read to fill the hole when the show is over :) Another similar rec I've seen popping up lately is Empire of Pain by Patrick Keefe...
I really enjoy my commute because I get to read, but unfortunately it's just not long enough. 20 mins on a train is just enough time to really settle into a book... but then it's over too quickly and work has to be begin.
Katie Gutierrez's book is so good! (And I'm not generally a fan of true crime.) But I really came here to say I love your comment about a quirky group of people coming together--that's something I've realized recently I really like, too! I'd add Jesse Q. Sutanto's Vera Wong's Unsolicited Advice for Murderers in the category, too!
I loved Rules for Commuting and would describe it as heartwarming. It’s a great book. Weirdly, it’s called The People on Platform Five here in Australia.
'Rules of Commuting' looks great - putting on my list!
Just wanted to say thank you for this blog. I believe you turned me on to Ruth Ozeki, I've read two of her books and now and enjoyed them immensely.
I'm writing up a post about what I've read so far this year and will be sure to give you a mention. Keep up the good work!
Thank you so much! This made my day.

Empire of Pain is so well done.
Sounds amazing! Thanks for the recs, and I will be adding Empire of Pain to my TBR too.

I have missed my stop more than once.
You had me at the title!

I loved Vera Wong! One of the few books I've gotten through recently. It's one of my favorite tropes.
Unscripted? I need to read this.
SO JUICY.
Getting the Redstone book 📕 thanks, Elizabeth!
It's simultaneously gossipy and educational. I think you'll love it.
More than you’ll ever know sounds amazing. Not a genre I would normally read, so thanks for the recommendation.
Iona Iverson’s Rules of Commuting looks like something I’d want to pick up for travels. Would you say it’s funny?
It has moments of humor but it's not funny. Does that make sense?
