The Red Parts (with that amazing subtitle: "Autobiography of a Trial") is such an important and compelling moment in twenty-first-century true crime! I'm also a huge fan of Nelson's hybrid poetry collection, also about her murdered aunt, Jane: A Murder. (2005) It intersperses poetry, selections from Jane's journal, and excerpts from a more traditional (and exploitative) true crime text about the serial killer to whom Jane's murder was attributed at the time to explore her aunt's subjectivity and the way trauma reverberates through generations.
A review of "The Ministry of Truth" that mentions both "A Gentleman in Moscow" AND "The Time Traveler's Wife", two of my favorites, basically mandates that I read this book. Okay, it's in the queue, and "Welcome home..." also sounds like fun. Thank you.
reading Ministry of Time now, its exactly as you describe - so hard to pin down. I am feeling like I need the plot to get going a little though but loving her sentence level writing
Recently picked up 'Ministry of Time' and now that I see Elizabeth has recommended, I know I made a good choice.
LMK what you think!
Here for the Time Travel 🧭
There's some food too!
Extra bonus points!

It's such a great model for showing how to do it in a non-gross way.
I’ve just finished The Ministry of Time (we are simpatico) and I love your description. I really enjoyed it too.
Thank you! it was a tricky one.
You did a fine job on the Ministry blurb, and it definitely needs to be seen and not heard! Still haunting me.
It's rare I regret listening to something, but this was one.
I’ve heard so much praise for The Ministry of Time!!! I can’t wait to read it - The Red Parts is also new to me and sounds amazing!
Enjoy!

Let me know if you end up reading them.
Welcome Home, CK sounds so cute. I requested it from the library immediately! The Ministry of Tme sounds like it would be a good book club read.
I'm hoping my book club does it eventually.
Great stuff as always!
Thank you!
I want to read The Ministry of Time so much! Maybe my reward when we finish season 6 of our show.
Always want your take.

Welcome Home, Caroline Kline was SO good, and it made me so nostalgic for my softball days. ❤️
