I 90% enjoyed Counterfeit as a fun escapist read and 10% found it really hard to read the scenes with her child. I kind of wish the author had taken a different approach with that whole part because it was stressing me out!
Ohh, I hadn’t been hunting for a thriller as I’ve got a ton of mysteries on my reading list for March Mystery Madness. But oh my, this post convinced me that Wild game deserves a spot on my tbr. Thanks for the suggestions!
Winter Counts is fabulous! One of my top books the year I read it. I keep hoping there’s a sequel.
He told me he was working on one: https://whattoreadif.substack.com/p/five-questions-with-author-david

March mystery madness you say?
Yes, do you participate in that? It’s my first year, and I’ve ambitiously got 8 mysteries on my tbr list.
Yes, it was started 10 years ago by a couple of BookTubers. This year’s theme is Reading through the Decades. But basically yes, you read mysteries. 📚
I've never heard of it! Do you just commit to reading mysteries?
ditto what Kate asked? This appears to be the same book but I'm curious why they changed the "subtitle" after publication. Do you know?
I have no idea! This is so weird.
Is there a difference between Wild game : my mother, her secret and me and Wild game : my mother, her lover, and me? (I mean, besides the title.)
I do not know! Maybe they changed it.
Counterfeit just went on my list of books to buy 👜
I think you'll love it.
