CULTISH is so, so, so good! I had so many lightbulb moments while I read. Montell has another book, too, about feminism and language. I haven't read it yet, but I'm sure it's incredible.

And now don't mind me while I start watching LuLaRich...

Second time recommendation of Cultish, first was on Reddit. Will have to add to my TBR list for 2022.

I also recently finished The Other Black Girl and had the "must discuss" feeling. In particular, needed to sit with the ending a bit and think about how I felt about it.

Same! That ending will stick with me for a while.

One of the best books I read so far this year, which by the sound of it you might like, is “The End of the World is Bigger Than Love” by Davina Bell. It won the Children’s Book Council of Australia “Book of the Year for Older Readers”. (I figure than at 70 years old, I’m an older reader!). Strange book, but excellent. I wrote about it in my own newsletter here: https://biblioscope.substack.com/p/sun-light-rain?r=oqvx7&utm_campaign=post&utm_medium=email&utm_source=copy
