Congrats on one year! The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue is one of my favorite reads of 2021. Spell-binding is a perfect way to describe it!

Thanks Valorie! Addie LaRue led to same late nights in the bad decisions book club.

How does one gain membership to the bad decisions book club? If it's all about staying up past bedtime, I'm in.

That's it exactly. I think it was coined by Smart Bitches, Trashy Books. https://smartbitchestrashybooks.com/2016/05/welcome-bad-decisions-book-club/

They definitely have Bad Decisions Book Club merch.

Happy newsletterversary! You continue to impress and I look forward to another great year ahead!

I'm so glad you mentioned The Secret Lives of Groceries. I read it last year and found it fascinating! Like how did I not know Trader Joe's and Aldi are owned by the same company? I think about this constantly! And as a transportation policy person by day, I found the chapter on the economics of independent truck drivers super interesting! The book reminded me a bit of journalist Adam Minter's work. He's written a couple of books (Secondhand and Junkyard Planet) about waste, recycling, and re-use.

Thanks Susan! I'll have to check out Minter.
